POPL was founded by René Redzepi and the team behind the world-renowned restaurant, noma. Originally a summer pop-up during Covid, POPL returned as a neighborhood diner where family and friends can come together to share the joy of a well-crafted burger.

The graphic language is a play on the elements of a burger. Type, image, and shapes are stacked on top of each other across signage, packaging, posters, and even within the restaurant space.

POPL’s name derives from the Latin word ‘populus’ meaning community of people. It’s an abridged translation of Poplar, a hardwood native to Denmark that’s both beautiful and affordable.

In lieu of new in-door dining trends due to the pandemic, we created a qr code menu for ease of access when ordering in the restaurant.

We also designed the look of POPL’s take-away packaging, which refreshes color every seasons.
