MasterClass is a platform where viewers gain access to the knowledge generously shared by renowned artists and masters of their craft. The brand has garnered mainstream popularity through its collaboration with a star-studded lineup of instructors from a variety of expertise — including Anna Wintour, Serena Williams, Martin Scorsese, Gordon Ramsay, and Bill Nye.

Our challenge was to create a cohesive look that can build brand awareness through striking visuals and unite the brand’s ever-expanding world of content. Taking cues from film strips, the design language reflects the brand’s sophistication and cinematic production, while allowing individual instructors’ personalities to shine through.


Stemming from the logo, the Underscore is a key element in our system, guiding viewers along the path of learning.

Our fluid instructor nameplate system is based on two typefaces: Söhne by Klim Type Foundry and Ivar by Letters from Sweden. This creates a controlled yet variable system that allows for individual instructors’ personality to come through.
